Weapon #7 — Redefining Truth

Truth is not just a concept.

It is the foundation beneath every moral claim.

If truth is objective, morality has structure.

If truth is subjective, morality becomes negotiation.

And modern culture has shifted truth from revelation to preference.

What Cultural Truth Sounds Like

It sounds humble.

• “That’s your truth.”

• “Truth is personal.”

• “What’s true for you may not be true for me.”

• “There are many perspectives.”

• “Truth evolves.”

Truth becomes experiential.

Private.
Emotional.
Flexible.

And once truth becomes personal, correction becomes impossible.

The Core Shift

Cultural truth shifts from:

• Discovered reality
  to

• Constructed narrative

From:

• Correspondence to what is
  to

• Consistency with what feels right

From:

• Revelation
  to

• Interpretation without limit

Truth is no longer something you submit to.

It is something you curate.

The Hidden Assumption

The underlying belief is:

Certainty equals arrogance.

So conviction is framed as pride.

Confidence in truth is framed as oppression.

But if truth cannot be known, then:

• Justice collapses.

• Science collapses.

• Logic collapses.

• Morality collapses.

Even the claim “there is no objective truth” self-destructs — because it asserts itself as objectively true.

Relativism cannot sustain itself.

Where the Pressure Hits Believers

Christians believe:

• Scripture is true.

• Christ is true.

• Morality is fixed.

• Reality is created, not invented.

So when culture says truth is evolving, believers are pressured to reinterpret Scripture to match social change.

Language like:

“Contextualize.”
“Update.”
“Reimagine.”
“Deconstruct.”

Begins to replace:

“Submit.”
“Receive.”
“Obey.”

But truth that evolves is not truth.

It is trend.

The Emotional Weapon

Relativism feels peaceful.

If no one is wrong, no one must be corrected.

If all truths are valid, conflict dissolves.

But that peace is artificial.

Because truth still functions in daily life:

• Gravity remains true.

• Death remains real.

• Consequences remain fixed.

Reality does not adjust to preference.

And neither does God.

The Result

When truth becomes fluid:

• Identity becomes unstable.

• Justice becomes ideological.

• Love becomes sentimental.

• Freedom becomes chaotic.

Everything drifts.

And drift feels like liberation — until it leads to fragmentation.

The Corrective Vision

Biblical truth is:

• Rooted in God’s character.

• Revealed, not invented.

• Consistent across time.

• Knowable.

• Liberating.

Truth is not harsh.

Truth is solid.

It does not move with culture.
It anchors culture.

And Christ did not say He would show the truth.

He said He is the truth.

When truth is personal in that sense — rooted in the person of Christ — it is not flexible.

It is faithful.

If truth collapses, the entire structure collapses.

That’s why this weapon is central.
